STOMPer Lynn Tiang was passing by this Block 108 Hougang Ave 1 coffeeshop when lightning struck and a shelter collapsed, injuring a patron.

The 26-year-old, who works in medical sales, sent in these pictures via MMS just minutes after the accident occurred at 4:58pm today (Jan 12).

“It was such a shock.

“I just happened to be passing through the coffeeshop and it was raining heavily at point of time.

“Lightning stuck and the shelter abruptly collapsed on a lady who was sitting at one of the tables, eating.

“She was hurt in head but it did not seem very serious.

“People gathered around to help her and one even passed her a towel to wrap around her head.

“Later on, everyone evacuated the area and moved into the inner part of the coffeeshop.”

STOMP contacted the Police and a spokesman said:

"The lady was conveyed to Changi General Hospital for her injuries."
